Simpson Bay Beach - Close to Bars and Restaurants

beaches Feb 28, 2026

At one time, this area was famous for its families who made their living by fishing. There are still a few fishermen who shove off, hours before dawn, in search of "the one that got away". Today, residential and vacation homes dot this two-kilometer long beach, as well as a few small resort hotels.

Right at the end of the Simpson Bay Village, you'll find two beach bars: The Boon as part of the Mary's Boon Resort but open to the public and Karakter, an active beach bar with great drinks and food. These two beach establishments both offer frequent live entertainment, throw beach parties whenever there is something to celebrate, and have turned their spot on Simpson Bay Beach into the center of the Dutch side's beach scene.

Half of Simpson Bay Beach runs parallel with The Princess Juliana International Airport runway. This beach is never crowded and perfect for watching planes and sunsets.
